Hi! I’m Maggie, and words are my gig!

“Always Follow Your Dreams!” That’s how I sign my books and the mantra I live by. It can take time to figure out what those dreams may be and that’s okay as long as you strive toward them every day. I am living my dream!

My journey began in northern Michigan. If you’ve ever met a Michigander and asked them where they live, they’ll hold up their “mitten” hand and point! Well I grew up at the top of  the pinky.

I’ve written from the time I could hold a pen, and even went to Michigan State University (my blood runs green, baby!) studying advertising, journalism, and creative writing. Many career paths, states, and countries later and after starting my family, the stories began to flow and my life as an author and wordsmith began.

My Philosophy

Writing for small businesses is not just about filling pages with words; it’s about creating a vibrant, informative ecosystem where your audience can easily find the info they need.

Fun (or funny) Facts About Me:

  • I have a 125 pound Bernese Mountain Dog named Koning, Dutch for King. He is the inspiration for my King’s Day Out book series.

  • I used to be a ski instructor!

  • I have five children’s books published and one book of poetry (now out of print).

  • I’m terrified of heights and once had a full-on panic attack at the top of the The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

  • When I turned 40, purple became my favorite color! The deep, eggplant shade of purple to be specific. I had a purple couch, purple car, purple logo … hasn’t really changed!

  • I graduated from Leland Public High School with 25 people … the same 25 I started kindergarten with (give or take a few).

My Tribe

Being an entrepreneur is empowering! It means working on your own schedule and choosing the clients you want to work with. But, it can also be scary, isolating, and lonely. Having a group of people to lift and support me has been a saving grace.

Through global pandemics, financial uncertainty, and the need to human contact, my tribe has been more than networking, it has been a lifeline that’s propelled me into the writer I am today!
