Hello, author!
So you wrote a book. Now what?
Whether you have a napkin full of ideas, a half-finished manuscript collecting dust, or a completed draft you're not sure what to do with, you're in the right place.
Let's be real about what I am and what I'm not.
If your goal is to land a seven-figure deal with a major publishing house and become the next Tom Clancy, I'm probably not your gal.
But if you have a story worth telling and you need someone in your corner who has been through the process, made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and come out the other side with five published books and a whole lot of hard-won wisdom? Pull up a chair.
I'm not a publisher, an agent, or a publicist. What I am is a writer, editor, and author who genuinely loves helping people get their book out of their head and into the world. I also happen to have a great network of contacts who can help with the pieces that fall outside my lane, and I'm happy to connect you with the right people when the time comes.
Sound familiar?

You've got an idea but don't know where to start.
The story is there. You can feel it. But every time you sit down to write, you're not sure where to begin or whether it's even worth pursuing. Spoiler: it probably is. Let's figure it out together.

You're mid-manuscript and stuck.
You started strong, but somewhere along the way the momentum stalled. Maybe the structure isn't working, maybe the voice feels off, or maybe life just got in the way. Either way, let's get you unstuck.

You've got a finished manuscript and no idea what comes next.
Congratulations, seriously! Finishing a manuscript is no small thing. Now comes the part nobody warns you about, figuring out what to do with it. That's where I come in.
Manuscript Editing and Proofreading
Good editing is more than hunting for typos. Every manuscript gets a thorough look across three layers:
Developmental Editing: big picture, content, voice, and audience. Does your story make sense? Does it flow? Is it saying what you mean it to say?
Copyediting: structure, clarity, and flow. The sentence-level work that makes reading feel effortless.
Proofreading: spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency, format, and layout. The final polish before your book goes anywhere.
Publishing Guidance and Navigation
Self-publishing, print on demand, boutique publishing, larger houses. There are more options than ever and more fine print than you'd believe. Every path gets laid out clearly, what it costs, what you give up, and what you keep. No surprises, no pressure.
The Hand-Holding and the Honest Conversations
Sometimes you need someone to tell you your idea is brilliant. Sometimes you need someone to gently tell you it needs more work. Sometimes you just need to talk it through with someone who gets it. All of it is part of the process. Consider the occasional unqualified therapy session included at no extra charge.
Connections
Illustrators, designers, printers, publicists, marketers…oh my! When the project needs something outside this lane, the right people are just a referral away.
Author Consulting
No matter where you are on your writing journey, there’s a place to start.
Ready to get started?
Author consulting is billed at $125 per hour. Use as much or as little time as needed. Some clients need one session to get unstuck. Others want ongoing support from the first draft to final publication. Either way, there's no minimum commitment and no retainer.
Not sure if you need an hour or ten? Start with a free 30-minute intro call and we'll figure it out together.
The Manuscript Evaluation: Know Before You Go.
A Structural Health Check for Your Book.
Are you at the finished draft stage (or at least a hefty chunk of one), but find yourself staring at the screen wondering "Is this actually ready for the world?" Before spending money on formatting or pitching to publishers, let's make sure the foundation is solid.
A Manuscript Evaluation is a comprehensive, high-level review of your work. The goal is simple: an honest, expert roadmap that tells you exactly where you stand and what comes next.
What's Included:
The Full Read-Through. Every manuscript gets read with a critical, experienced eye, looking at the story both as a writer and as someone who knows the publishing world firsthand.
Genre and Market Viability Check. Word count, target audience, and structure all get assessed to see where your book fits best, whether that's a traditional picture book, an early reader, a memoir, or a novelty gift book.
Content, Flow, and Style Analysis. Pacing, cadence, and formatting consistency get a close look to make sure the read feels effortless from start to finish.
Word Choice and Readability Review. Language gets checked against your target audience to make sure it hits the right notes, balancing the message with real readability.
A Real-World Recommendation. An honest take on the best publishing path for your specific goals, whether that's a traditional house or indie publishing. No sugarcoating, no cheerleading. Just real guidance.
The bottom line? No more guesswork. You walk away with a clear, bulleted checklist of exactly what to shorten, clarify, or reformat to make your book industry-ready.
All genres and word counts welcome!
The Investment:
Every manuscript is different, and pricing reflects that. A 1,200-word children's book requires a completely different deep-dive than a 40,000-word memoir.
Manuscript Evaluations start at $375. A custom quote gets provided upfront based on your total word count and project scope.

Right now, you probably have more questions than answers.
Where do I start? Is my idea strong enough? Is my manuscript ready? What does "ready" even mean? What’s next? Here are some answers.
What genres do you work with?
All of them. Fiction, nonfiction, children's books, memoir, self-help, business books. If you wrote it, it's worth a conversation.
Do you only work with first-time authors?
Not at all. Whether this is your first book or your fifth, the process still has its challenges and its surprises. Experience at every stage is welcome here.
What if I only need help with one part of the process?
That's completely fine. There's no package to buy and no minimum hours required. Use the time exactly where you need it most.
Are you a publisher, agent, or publicist?
No, and that's an important distinction. The focus here is on writing, editing, and navigating the publishing process. When the project needs an agent, a publicist, or a designer, trusted referrals are available.
What if my manuscript needs a lot of work?
That's not a problem, it's actually pretty normal. Every manuscript starts somewhere. The work gets done with honesty and without judgment, always with the goal of making your story the best version of itself.
